This September, the world came together to celebrate World Alzheimer’s Month. This year’s campaign highlighted the importance of support for people living with dementia and families following a diagnosis. World Alzheimer Report 2022 | Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI) (alzint.org).

Our recent Global-US BrainTrust Quarterly dialogue had those themes in mind, as we looked at the future of prevention through precision brain health and digital biomarkers for early diagnosis with Professor Rhoda Au, Director of the Global Cohort at the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative, and the positive effect of music on dementia with Sarah Lock, Senior VP Policy and Executive Director of the Global Council on Brain Health at AARP.

We were honored to be joined by Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the 21st US Secretary of Health and Human Services and a Founding Member of the US BrainTrust, who reinforced the importance of this global dialogue and brain health as a leadership position. We also discussed how COVID-19 disrupted our social and economic systems, and what changes will be needed to create a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable world going forward.
