WELCOME: GLOBAL BHP BRAINTRUST
A Message from Andrea Pfeifer, Chair of the Global BHP BrainTrust
Beyond Women’s Day – What’s yet to accelerate?
March 8th was a powerful reminder to celebrate women’s achievements and #AccelerateAction toward gender equity in health. But when it comes to women’s brain health, progress demands more than just a day of recognition—it requires continuous advocacy, research, and systemic change.
Women remain underrepresented in brain health research, despite facing a disproportionate burden—not just as patients but also as caregivers. That’s why I’m especially grateful for the remarkable women leaders of the Global BHP BrainTrust. Across seven countries, these leaders are not only driving critical advancements in brain health research such as our FINGERS Plus for Women study, but they are also shaping global conversations and advocacy for gender equality in business and diplomacy. Their diverse expertise and dedication for initiatives to prioritize women’s brain health to close gender equity gaps creates meaningful change.
In this regard, I look forward to keeping the momentum going because when we invest in women’s brain health, we invest in a healthier generation of tomorrow.
