WELCOME: GLOBAL BHP BRAINTRUST
A Message from Andrea Pfeifer, Chair of the Global BHP BrainTrust
Autumn is right around the corner, and I am excited to highlight new opportunities for future research that have emerged since May (2025), when the FDA approved the first blood-based diagnostic device to aid in Alzheimer’s disease detection.
A particularly exciting project is the Cleveland Clinic’s participation in the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative Healthcare System Preparedness (DAC-SP) Accurate Diagnosis project. This first implementation study will enroll 1,200 patients with suspected cognitive impairment, combining the expertise of the Center for Geriatric Medicine and the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. Beyond advancing care for their own patients, Cleveland Clinic will share these insights with the global DAC community, ensuring that advancements benefit healthcare systems worldwide.
I am also pleased to welcome to our grow-ing list of international and influential Global BHP BrainTrust members, the newest U.S. Representatives, nominated in collaboration with the UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Women’s Leadership Council. Their professional expertise and civic leadership will strengthen our mission to impact women’s brain and mental health and expand the impact of our work globally. (See Below)
This merger of scientific advancement and continuous advocacy are both power-ful examples of how leadership, concerted action, and community represent a meaningful investment in our collective future.
