Twenty-three years ago, when the scientific founders of AC Immune approached me, I immediately recognized their passion, the strength of the science, and the urgent need to address Alzheimer’s disease. That moment changed both my career and my life.

Today, as I reflect on that journey, I am proud of what has been achieved through collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to patients and their families. From my early academic work seeking cures for cancer, to discovering at Nestlé the power of connecting science with business, to advancing precision prevention at AC Immune, each experience reinforced my belief that transformative progress requires both scientific excellence and strong partnerships.

While I have officially retired as CEO of AC Immune this month, my commitment to brain health remains steadfast. As Co-founder and Chairwoman of the Global BHP Brain Trust, I look forward to continuing to address the scientific, medical, regulatory, policy, and societal challenges of neurodegenerative diseases, while supporting initiatives through the Davos Alzheimer’s Collaborative and CEOi – Global CEO Initiative on Alzheimer’s Disease.
